Flash fun!

One night, I got Haansy out on the scooter for a wee shoot! I used Coyo's flash, on my wireless trigger (I didn't use my flashes because they are SHIT)!

Shaniqua is MAGNIFICIENT!

I have had Shaniqua (7D) for just over a week now. I love her! AHH! Here are some more photos from her first week and a half with me!

I have had Shaniqua for 2 days now. (Shaniqua=7D).

Since Coyo arrived with my new 7D called Shaniqua, I have been snapping like there is no tomorrow!

I have also tested her video mode on the Wairoa river! Very cool!

New toys...

Tomorrow, my kayaking friend from Japan arrives and is staying for 2 months! YUSS!

He is bringing me a cool new toy... a Canon EOS 7D with a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens and 8GB 60mb/s CF card! GLORIOUS!!!

I cannot wait!

He himself has a 5D mk 2 with assorted lenses! Camera porn time...

The Golden Ratio.

The Golden Ratio is a mathematical equation, invented by Leonardo Fibonacci. It is also known as the Golden Mean, Phi, the Divine Proportion, and other names.

Many people believe it is the equation of beauty... Or something like that... I found this Composition tip on a website I have subscribed to, which uses the Golden Ratio to compose a picture rather than the Rule Of Thirds.

Michelles house!

For this Tuesday's photography group, we all shipped over to Michelles house, where she has some nice garden stuff and such things. We got some soft toys and a baby over there, and here is what I achieved!

BMX shoot with Mattew Tew.

My photography group and I met up with one of Rotorua's best BMX bikers, Matt Tew. He is sixteen years old, and already up there with the big sponsors, and racing with the elite adults.

We spent a couple of hours with this legend, being his paparazi.

Walking down the street.

It is amazing how many interesting things there can be down your very own street!

I went for a wee walk down my very own street (The street I live in, I don't own it...) yesterday evening! Sunset is such a nice time to take photos because it brings out the nice warm colors! I love it!

Lately...

AYE! I haven't updated my blog for ages! Anyway!

Over the last couple of weeks I have set myself the challenge of shooting in manual mode ONLY, and editing on Photoshop CS3 (I usually use lightroom 2, but thats too easy!). My challenge has ben going very well and I am digging it hard out!

I have learnt how to make a sequence photo in photoshop as well! I am very stoked about that!

                                                     

( Open selected photos in photoshop, copy and paste them into separate layers, select all the layers then align them [Auto align layers], when they are all aligned, add a black layer mask to the top layer and paint over where your sequence is with a white brush. PAINT THE LAYER MASK, NOT THE ACTUAL LAYER. Move to the next layer down, and to the same... etc. Flatten image and do your effects!)

On the evening of 28/10/2010, Abby, Aimee, Keriann and I met in the town (Or officially known as a City) of Rotorua, for some evening street photography! Since it doesn't get dark in Rotorua until past 8.00 O'clock, we started off with some 'Afternoon Street Photography'!

Every Thursday, there is a night market in Rotorua, it starts at 5 o'clock, and finishes at around 9 o'clock. This night market was our first photograph destination! There were heaps of cool stalls with heaps of cool stuff in them!

During our stay at the markets, there was a great big Zombie Walk, raising money for brain damaged people. It came right through the markets! People were dressed in their zombie suits, with blood (Jam, or Fake blood) and fake severed limbs! They looked cool... AND SCARY!

The zombies walked around, feeding on brains and McDonalds (Weird diet for a zombie huh?).

These zombies made their way to the City Focus, a big city center area where loads of stuff goes down, for a big performance! THE THRILLER DANCE!!! It was amazing!

I didn't manage to get many awesome shots of this dance, but I got a couple...

When night fell, the team and I headed back to the markets! We met the market organizer and she told us that if we took photos of all the stands, and send them to her, she would put them on the website and facebook! Cher!!!

These are just a few that I took of the stalls...

I also made some new contacts for my photographic career! But above all, I, along with the 3 gals, had HEAPS of fun! It was really an awesome evening! I can't wait to do it again!
